Lauren Gorman, LPC, PMH-C

I’m Lauren and I enjoy helping individuals and couples who currently feel like they have little control over the most important parts of their life, whether that be starting a family, parenthood, or their relationship.  I have a deep appreciation for finding your strengths and using them to help you through this incredibly stressful time.  I take great joy in helping couples to feel more connected again, despite whatever challenge is pulling you apart.

Sometimes life can throw you a major curveball, sending you reeling.  Things were more or less all going according to plan, until now.  Lately, you find yourself feeling uncertain about the future.  The life you planned out is suddenly nothing like what you expected and everything feels like it is out of your control.

You’ve always been able to overcome life’s hurdles, but lately your confidence has taken a major hit.  You wonder if you’re forever changed.  It’s scary and you’re feeling totally lost.

You may feel distant from some of the most important people in your life.  Maybe you’re fighting with your partner more or feel incredibly alone even when you’re together.  You want things to be different but don’t know what needs to change or if that’s even possible.  You seem to be dealing with things completely differently and don’t know what the answer is.

We are all shaped by our life experiences and people’s stories never cease to fascinate me. I enjoy learning about what experiences have brought you to where you are today.  Together, we will work to help you feel more in control, confident, and happy.  With couples, I love helping you identify what’s underneath your conflict in order to better navigate your challenges together.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional, and graduated from Seton Hall University with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling.  In addition to my time at Postpartum Health & Harmony, I am part of the Mental Health Team at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, where I support individuals and couples going through infertility treatment.  Prior to working at RMANJ, I assisted individuals with substance abuse issues at the New Brunswick Counseling Center.  I have advanced clinical training in infertility and prenatal/postpartum counseling and am a member of Postpartum Support International and the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

We have 2 offices, located in Chatham and Denville.  Both are baby friendly, so feel free to bring your baby or leave baby at home.  Whatever will make you more comfortable.

If you have suffered a pregnancy loss and being around a baby is more than you can bear right now, we completely understand and will schedule your appointments with your needs in mind.

Ready to make an appointment or have questions? Click below to contact me or schedule an appointment. I offer appointments in our Chatham office and by video.
